The entire cricket fraternity is aware of the fact that the former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and current head coach Ravi Shastri do not get along. Ever since the conclusion of India’s coach selection process in 2016, both of them are at loggerheads with each other.

During the selection process, Sourav Ganguly was a part of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) that was given the task of selecting the head coach. Eventually, Anil Kumble was picked over Ravi Shastri. Not amused by the selection of Kumble, Ravi Shastri vented out his frustration by questioning Ganguly’s absence during his interview, and said he found it “disrespectful”.

Sourav Ganguly had then hit back at Ravi Shastri by saying that Shastri is living in a ‘Fool’s Paradise’. They have not missed out on any opportunity to take a swipe at each other since then. And Sourav Ganguly, who has now been appointed as the President of the BCCI, was at it again.

The incident took place at a press conference recently, when a reporter asked Sourav Ganguly whether he had spoken to Ravi Shastri. As quoted by Outlook India, Sourav Ganguly replied: “Why what has Ravi Shastri done now?” In fact, he himself burst into laughter after making this hilarious remark.

Now with the appointment of Sourav Ganguly as the new President of BCCI, it has come as a new ray of hope. It is very rare that we see fans getting excited and optimistic about changes in the administration.

After filling the nominations on Monday, Sourav Ganguly had said that he hopes to bring back normalcy in Indian cricket. He said:

“Hopefully in the next few months, we can put everything in place and bring back normalcy in Indian cricket”.
