Sourav Ganguly Finally Reacts On Hardik Pandya’s Controversial Statement: India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been going through a rough phase in his career. His lean form has become a matter of concern for Indian cricket for a while now.
For the unversed, Hardik Pandya has been didn’t enjoy a fruitful time in the T20 World Cup 2021, which was also his last assignment for Team India, following which he was dropped from the squad. He is constantly struggling with his form. In fact, his inability to bowl due to fitness issues earned him massive criticism.
However, now Pandya looks determined to make a full-fledged comeback as an all-rounder. Recently, he had expressed his desire to be at his peak during the upcoming World Cup event.
Even BCCI’s president Sourav Ganguly also wants to see Hardik Pandya giving his services in all the formats of the game. On being asked about Pandya’s future, Ganguly said that the all-rounder has been given time to recover completely.
Sourav Ganguly also said that Pandya is expected to bowl a lot more in the coming times. He said: “Hardik was injured and a break was given to him to completely recover, so that he can continue to serve Indian cricket for a long period of time. I believe I will see him play some Ranji Trophy to start with,”
He added: “I expect him to bowl a lot more overs and his body will get stronger. Also he is now captain of Ahmedabad in IPL and that will be a platform where his form and fitness will be checked by selectors. Accordingly, they will take a call,”
Recently, speaking on Backstage with Boria, Hardik Pandya expressed his desire of making a strong comeback really soon. He said: “I want to play as an all-rounder. If something goes bad, then I don’t know but my preparations are all about playing as an all-rounder. I am feeling good, feeling strong and eventually, the time will say what happens,”
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya is looking forward to making a powerful comeback in the upcoming 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, where he will be seen leading the Ahmedabad franchise.
