Sourav Ganguly Made A Big Statement After Australians Defeated India Last Night In The First T20i Match

The Australian cricket team emerged out victorious, after a thrilling finish in the first of the three match T20i series as the Indian cricket team failed to chase the target runs of 174 runs and the hosts are now leading the series with 1-0.

Sourav Ganguly, the former skipper of India backed the Men in Blue after they lost the match to Australians last night. Talking about India’s performance in the match he said :

“India played good cricket. It was the first match of the series and you also have to consider the fact that they didn’t even play a practice match. Shikhar Dhawan batted really well. But when you chase such a big target, there’s always pressure on your batsmen.”

Sourav Ganguly was all praises for Shikhar Dhawan, who gave one of his finest test performances in the match yesterday. Shikhar Dhawan smashed 76 runs off just 42 balls, praising him, Sourav Ganguly said :

“It was probably one of Dhawan’s best T20I knocks. The way he was hitting the ball, he seemed to be in a different zone. I hope he continues to play well in the next matches as I feel India have a chance to come back in the series,”

However, Sourav Ganguly also criticized the performance of Rishabh Pant. He believed he could have taken the Indian team to the winning side. Talking about him, he said :

“Rishabh Pant could’ve won the match for India with Dinesh Karthik. The way he was batting with Karthik and took the match close for India, the shot didn’t have any value,”

Well, it will be interesting to see if Men In Blue are able to come back stronger in the the second T20I series that will take place on 23rd November.
