Sourav Ganguly Made A Big Prediction About R Ashwin: The Indian cricket team will kickstart their campaign in the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 8, 2023, at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Team India will play its first match in the multi-nation tournament on September 2, 2023. However, ahead of the big tournament, the team’s combination has become a huge topic of discussion.

Sourav Ganguly Made A Big Statement About R Ashwin

Meanwhile, former Indian captain and ex-BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has dismissed the idea of Ravichandran Ashwin getting included in India’s squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

Ganguly has dropped a brutal truth bomb on star Indian spinner R Ashwin’s inclusion in the Indian squad for the ODI World Cup, saying that he won’t get selected for the marquee tournament.

Speaking at a public event, Ganguly stated that though Ashwin has almost achieved everything, however, he might not get selected for the World Cup 2023.

For the unversed, Ashwin was a part of the World Cup winning squad in 2011 and has also won the Champions Trophy with the Indian team. Highlighting Ashwin’s achievements, Sourav Ganguly said:

“R Ashwin is a great bowler, but I dont think he will make the One Day side. Not because I am saying it, it is because what I see. 500 Test wickets, he has to be a champion bowler, which he is. He was the part of the World Cup winning team in 2011, IPL winning teams and has also won a Champions Trophy. Ashwin has achieved everything.”

Earlier this month, a BCCI official told a leading media about Ashwin’s availability for the World Cup. He had said:

“It’s wrong to say Ashwin is out of World Cup already. It’s the selectors’ call. We all know how important Ashwin can be on Indian pitches. Ajit is meeting Rahul and Rohit during the Test match and will discuss the squads for Asia Cup and WC”
