It is a matter of great honour to be hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup: Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly is extremely pumped up for the event to be taking place in his home country. He is hopeful that by the time the event is set to take place, crowds will be allowed in the stadiums as he believes that the passionate Indian crowd will add another dimension to the enormity of the tournament. He is confident that like previous events successfully held in India, this tournament will also become a grand success.

“It is a matter of great honour for us to be hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. India has successfully staged several global events since the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 1987 and I am sure cricketers from around the world would be excited at the prospect of playing in our cricket-loving country,” said Sourav Ganguly in an official ICC release.

Sourav Ganguly has lead the Indian team in multiple ICC events as a captain. This is the first time he will be working as a BCCI administrator in a mega tournament. After successfully hosting IPL 2020 in the UAE, Sourav Ganguly and the rest of the BCCI will be high on confidence. He is looking forward to play his role to perfection and help successfully host the 16-team tournament.

“I have enjoyed being part of ICC events as a player and know from experience that nothing beats the buzzing atmosphere of a global cricket event with millions around the world watching every game. I now look forward to playing my part as an administrator as we prepare to host the prestigious event,” Sourav Ganguly said.
