Sourav Ganguly Tells Virat Kohli To Improve

Virat Kohli, one of India’s most talented and consistent batsmen, has been in top form recently, scoring runs at will and seemingly enjoying his game more than ever. However, former Indian cricket team captain and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly believes that Kohli still has room for improvement in the Test format, especially with the highly-anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia coming up in February.

India and Australia have a long-standing and intense rivalry on the cricket field, and every time the two nations face off, fans and experts alike eagerly anticipate a thrilling and competitive series. The upcoming Test series will be no exception, as the Australian team, led by Pat Cummins, will travel to India for a four-match Test series and a three-match ODI series.

Virat Kohli has been in excellent form since returning from a break last August and will be looking to maintain his momentum as the series approaches. However, in the Test format, he has not been able to consistently put up the same level of performances as he has in One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals.

There is no plan to show-cause Virat Kohli: Sourav Ganguly | Sports News,The Indian Express

Sourav Ganguly believes that this is an area where Virat Kohli can still improve and that the upcoming series against Australia will be the perfect opportunity for him to do so.

“Yes, absolutely. He has batted really well against Sri Lanka, against Bangladesh. He will have to improve in Test cricket because India depends on him and a very crucial series against Australia is approaching which I believe will be a cracker of a contest. I expect it to be very competitive. Both are extremely good teams and it’s quite possible that these two teams can go on to play the World Test Championship final.” Sourav Ganguly said in an interview with Sports Tak.

Virat Kohli will be looking to make a big impact in the series and put pressure on the Australian team from the very beginning. The Australian team has shown that they can be successful in the subcontinent, having recently won a Test series against Pakistan and drawing a series against Sri Lanka.

However, the Indian team is considered to be stronger than its subcontinent counterparts and will present an even bigger challenge for the Australians. With Kohli at the top of his game, the Indian team will be a formidable opponent and the series promises to be an exciting and closely-fought battle between two of the world’s top cricketing nations.
