The clash between Indian skipper Virat Kohli and England’s star bowler James Anderson is always mouthwatering and after all the drama that took place during the second Test match, fans were waiting excitedly for the Virat Kohli show in the third Test match. However, to everyone’s dismay, the Indian skipper failed once again with the bat.
The Indian side started the day terribly as the decision of Virat Kohli to bat first backfired on them. Anderson set the tone in the first over itself as he removed Lord’s Test’s centurion KL Rahul for a four-ball duck. Soon after his dismissal, Cheteshwar Pujara was also sent back to the pavilion with only 1 run in his kitty.
Virat Kohli walked out to bat with a responsibility to bring back momentum to the game as the Indian side was reeling at 4/2, however, he failed to take his team to the safe shores. Anderson delivered one full outside the off-stump and managed to lure the Indian skipper into a false shot. Virat played a very loose-looking shot as he looked to drive through the covers but only managed an outside edge and the ball landed on the safe hands of Jos Buttler behind the stumps.
Meanwhile, a journalist has found himself at the receiving end of criticism for posting an insulting tweet against Virat Kohli.
Daniel Alexander, who is a journalist from Sri Lanka, is infamous for his tweets targetting Indian cricketers. He is often seen insulting the Indian cricketers in order to appease his followers from Sri Lanka and Pakistan. And for the same reason, he often gets trolled by the fans for his biased opinions.
On Wednesday, he was at it again as he posted a derogatory tweet against the Indian skipper. He took to his Twitter and took a dig at the Indian skipper for not being able to score a century. In his tweet, he also called Virat Kohli the ‘most over-rated cricketer ever’. He wrote:
“50* for Virat Kohli. 50 inns without an Int’l century for Kohli, last Int’l century was against Shakib-less Bangladesh in India on 23rd November 2019. Kohli’s Test average since 1st January 2020 is 23.00 (11 Tests, 18 inns, 414 runs). Most over-rated cricketer ever. #Cricket”

Kohli’s international centuries are more than the total international centuries of active cricketers in entire Sri Lanka. If Kohli is overrated then you should sit on a dharna to close your cricket Board. https://t.co/TG9ZA1cjTN
