Former Indian captain and flamboyant batter Virat Kohli continue with his lean patch as he once again failed to make it big with the bat. The stylish batter was dismissed for a duck in the ongoing 2nd ODI match of the three-match series at Bolan Park, Paarl.
Virat walked out to bat at the number three position after the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan, with a big responsibility to play a big knock. Virat Kohli, however, failed to open his account as he handed an easy catch to Temba Bavuma off Keshav Maharaj. Kohli could only survive 5 balls before he returned back to the pavilion without contributing any score to the scoreboard.
Though, it was the first time that Kohli was dismissed on a duck by a spinner in the ODI format, it was also his 14th duck in the 50-overs format. Virat Kohli’s wicket has pushed team India on the back foot, with the team reeling at 64/2.
Meanwhile, as soon as Kohli was dismissed for a duck, a Sri Lankan journalist posted an insulting Tweet for the Indian batter as he tried to troll him.
For the unversed, Daniel Alexander is a Sri Lankan cricket fan and a cricket writer. He is very active on social media, where he is infamous for his s tweets targetting Indian cricketers. He is often seen insulting Indian cricketers in order to appease his fans from Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
As the flamboyant Indian batter was dismissed for a duck, Daniel Alexander once again grabbed the opportunity to take a dig at Virat. In his Tweet, Daniel mocked Virat for his 31st duck in international career and for going 64 innings without scoring a century. He also called Virat Kohli the most overrated cricketer ever. He wrote:
