After a successful tour of South Africa, India now has its eyes set on the Nidahas Trophy. The Nidahas Trophy will be played from 6th March to 18th March between India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The T20 tri series offers high excitement from cricket lovers in Asia and we are all looking forward to it.

Sri Lanka is hosting the Nidahas Trophy to commemorate 70 years of its independence. But in what comes as a big blow to the hosts, their star player, Angelo Mathews has ruled out of the tri series owning to an injury. Angelo Mathews sustained a calf injury during training and hence he will have to miss out on the tri series.

Angelo Mathews is a high utility all rounder and him being ruled out would surely affect Sri Lanka badly and this is something they wouldn’t have even imagined.

As for India, with senior players being rested and Rohit Sharma leading a young side, India would hope to win the trophy with ease. The likes of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested after a long tour of South Africa. It’s a great opportunity for the youngsters to prove their caliber and we look forward to exciting battles already.
