Smith is fondling with batting records especially for the longest format of the game. With this century at Perth he has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar on the list of fastest 22 Test centuries.

Steve Smith got his 22nd Test century in his 108th inning while Sachin achieved this feat in 114 innings. Sachin Tendulkar as everyone knows has the maximum number of international centuries and is way ahead of the fabulous four which includes Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root.

Steve Smith and Virat Kohli, given the sensational form they are in, are expected to get the closest to Sachin Tendulkar. Sir Don Bradman is the undisputed champion Sir Donald Bradman is one of the greatest legends to have ever played the game.

You would be amazed to know the number of innings he took to reach 22 Test centuries. Sir Bradman only took 58 innings to reach 22 Test hundreds which is just unbelievable by all means. Second on the list is Sunil Gavaskar who lags behind Don Bradman by a great margin.

Sunil Gavaskar has scored 22 Test centuries in 101 innings. The gap between Sir Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar is a whopping 43. It seems like Sir Don Bradman by all means will remain at the top for its impossible to surpass his record.

Even the modern time greats are way behind Sir Don Bradman. Mohammad Yousuf is fifth in the list who got 22 Test Centuries in 121 innings.

Smith has put Australia in a very comfortable position in the ongoing Ashes Test and Australia has got a a hefty lead now over England. Australia has already smashed England in the first two tests of this year’s Ashes.
