The skipper of Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli and his Australian counterpart Steve Smith are two of the best batsmen in world cricket, across all three formats of the game. Steve Smith and Virat Kohli are the two best batsmen that we have in the world right now. Smith and Kohli are constantly compared with each other.

While Virat Kohli has been ranked number one in ODI and Test series, Steve Smith has been away because he was banned on the ball tampering scandal that he was involved in. The year has been great for the Indian skipper, if we talk about the personal milestone. He was ranked as the number one batsmen by ICC rankings.

In one of the interviews, Steve Smith was asked to say a few words on Virat Kohli’s phenomenal batting record in ODI cricket but he ducked the question and said he is not worries about personal achievements and his only goal is to try and win a series. Steve Smith feels Kohli has managed to leap well ahead of all his counterpart because India plays many ODI matches as compared to any other teams. He said :

“I’m not sure. I think India play a lot more ODI cricket than we do. I’m not sure how many games Virat has played. Both Virat and Joe Root are very good players. I am not worried about personal accolades or anything like that. I am here to try and win a series,”

Talking about India’s solid batting order, Smith said that India’s has a lot of quality in their top 7 and they all are capable of scoring big runs. He said:

“The Indian team has a very good top seven and all guys are capable of scoring big runs. Our bowlers have to be on the top of their game to keep them quiet this series,”

Well, as now he is banned from playing the cricket, Virat Kohli is touching new heights on the game making it a bit more difficult to chase the milestones when he returns.
