Steve Smith’s Message For Anushka Sharma: The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who has left the shores of Australia after a pep talk with his teammates, handing over the mantle of team India to Ajinkya Rahane in the remaining three Test matches.

Virat Kohli is heading back to India to be there with his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma during the birth of their child in January.

For the unversed, Anushka Sharma is due to give birth to their first child in early January. Though there have been many who have criticized the decision of Virat Kohli to leave the team amidst a series but there have been a few, who have come ahead to praise the decision.

Former Australian skipper Steve Waugh was also very surprised with the decision of Virat Kohli and had claimed that he was very disappointed with it. However, Australia’s star cricketer Steve Smith has made it clear that he fully supports the decision of Virat Kohli.

During a virtual press conference with the official broadcaster Sony Network, Steve Smith also admitted that missing Virat Kohli would be a big loss for team India.

“Obviously, it’s a big loss for India, not having him for the rest of the series. We just have to look at the way he played in the first innings. That was a pretty class display against some good bowling on a wicket that was doing a bit,”

Steve also revealed that he wished luck for Virat’s wife and prayed that everything goes well with the baby. He said:

“I just fist-pumped him at the end (of first Test) and said ‘Mate safe travels, hope everything goes well with the baby, and pass on my best to your wife.’ That was about it. I’m sure there would have been a lot of pressure for him to stay but to stand up and want to go home for for the birth of his first child, it’s a credit for him. It’s a milestone that he certainly wouldn’t want to miss,”
