Veteran England pacer Stuart Broad continued his dominance over Australian opener David Warner as he dismissed the opener for the 16th time in Test cricket, when the two met on Day 1 of the 3rd Ashes 2023 Test, at Headingley, Leeds.
The Ashes 2023 rivalry resumed in Headingley on Thursday with Ben Stokes, the England skipper, winning the toss and electing to bowl first on a pitch that had plenty of green and under overcast skies.
Even as Aussie Opener started the match with a first-ball boundary, English Seamer had his man in the first over of the match, edging to Zak Crawley at second slip.
From round the wicket angle, Broad bowled a terrific length delivery outside Warner’s off-stump. Even as the left-hander didn’t need to play at that, the incoming angle elicited a defensive stroke from Warner and he edged it in the cordon behind. Zak CrawleyZak Crawley took a good catch at his chest height. Stuart Broad was pumped up with the wicket and celebrated it animatedly.

Australian seamer Glenn McGrath dismissed England batsman Michael Atherton 19 times in Test cricket, the most a bowler has dismissed a particular batsman.
Meanwhile, both England and Australia have made 3 changes each to their line-ups from the Test at Lord’s. Some of the changes are forced due to injuries, while some are due to resting of pacers.
