Veteran England pacer Stuart Broad, who made his Test debut in 2007, is one the best bowlers in Test cricket history. Just like many other cricketers, Stuart Broad has also revealed his all-time playing XI. Broad had revealed his squad through Lord`s Cricket YouTube channel, the video of which has now resurfaced on the internet. The selection criteria were that he had to have played with or against them.
Interestingly, India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is the only Indian player in Broad’s team, while not a single player from Pakistan was picked by the bowler. In his playing XI, Broad has picked four Australian and three English players in his best XI.
Stuart Broad named Alastair Cook as the captain of his team, while Australia’s spin king Shane Warne has been named as the vice-captain. Broad also picked Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, and Jacques Kallis – the three masters of the game in his team.
However, it was the choice for the position of keeper-batter in his list that has raised several eyebrows. Stuart Broad picked his teammate Matt Prior, despite having choices like MS Dhoni, Adam Gilchrist, and Kumar Sangakkara, who are hailed as the best in the business.
Stuart Broad’s all-time XI:
Alastair Cook (England – captain), Matthew Hayden (Australia), Ricky Ponting (Australia), Sachin Tendulkar (India), Brian Lara (West Indies), Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Matthew Prior (England – wicketkeeper), Sir Richard Hadlee (New Zealand), Shane Warne (Australia – vice-captain), Glenn McGrath (Australia), James Anderson (England
