VIDEO: Suhana Khan Erupts In Joy As Venkatesh Iyer Hits His Maiden IPL Century

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Venkatesh Iyer showed immense intent as he smashed his maiden ton in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in a match against Mumbai Indians (MI). With this century, Iyer has etched his name in the record books as he became only the second centurion for the team after Brendon McCullum, who hit a century in the inaugural edition of the league.

Coming out to bat first, KKR lost N Jagadeesan in the second over and it was after his dismissal that Iyer got the opportunity to showcase his talent and he went on to play the best innings in the league.

Iyer came out all guns blazing as he smashed the MI bowlers to all the corners of the ground. He stood firm and played a calm inning as the wickets kept falling at the other end. He played a sensational knock of 104 runs off 51 balls, which was laced with 6 fours and 9 sixes.

Surprisingly, the second-best knock from the KKR was 21* by Andre Russell, which speaks volumes about how special his inning was.

Meanwhile, as Iyer reached the milestone he pointed toward the KKR dugout and bowed down in his special celebration of registering a century.  As he reached the triple-figure mark, Suhana Khan, who is the daughter of Bollywood superstar and KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan erupted in joy. Suhana’s reaction has gone insanely viral on the internet.

After the match, Venkatesh Iyer also opened up about his knock. He said that his maiden century in Mumbai is special for him. He said:

“Feels great, coming to Mumbai and playing a game is always special. Getting a hundred is even more special. I think the boys will defend this total. I want to play for the team, I am not going to think about the 16th over when I am in the 6th over, just try to focus on the present moment, don’t want to think far too ahead.”
