Cameron Green, who recently joined RCB from Mumbai Indians through a cash deal, is expected to play a crucial role for the team. RCB invested Rs. 17.50 crore to acquire the Australian all-rounder.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, Cameron Green joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after being traded from the Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal. RCB invested a significant amount of Rs. 17.50 crore to secure the Australian all-rounder for their squad.

Previously, Green was acquired by the Mumbai Indians in a hefty deal during the previous auction. He was among the most expensive players in the 2023 auction. However, Mumbai Indians decided to release Green to accommodate the acquisition of Hardik Pandya from the Gujarat Titans, prioritizing their team’s needs.

Meanwhile, in his latest interview, Sunil Gavaskar said that Green needs to pull his socks and perform both with the bat and the ball in the upcoming IPL 2024 season in order to compensate for the huge amount that the franchise has spent on him. He said:

“This player will have to perform better than last year because of the price you bought him for. Yes, I agree he scored a century as well for the Mumbai Indians last year. However, he will have to perform better than that because you should recover the price you bought him for and the Mumbai Indians didn’t recover that”.

He added: “If RCB have to cover the price, he has to do something not only in batting but bowling as well. He can deliver with the bat because he has that ability. He can play the big shots. He is well-organized in batting”,
