Former Team India all-rounder and Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina, who is hailed as ‘Mr. IPL’ went unsold at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 players’ auction and the same came out as a huge shock to many.
Raina has been a legend in the Indian Premier League, having put up a stupendous performance in the mega event in the past. Over the years, Raina emerged more like a backbone of the Chennai Super Kings ever since its inception in 2008. Suresh Raina has played for CSK from 2018 to 2021 and is also the fourth-highest run-scorer in IPL history with 5,528 runs from 205 games.
However, Raina who entered the IPL 2022 mega-auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore remained unsold for the first-ever time in the history of the lucrative league. Despite being one of the legendary cricketers in the tournament, none of the franchises, including Chennai Super Kings, showed interest in having him aboard.
While not having Suresh Raina in the IPL was a bitter pill to swallow for his fans, however, there is no bitterness between CSK and him.
Well, his recently, CSK shared a picture of Rayunu Ambati, where he was seen staring at the camera with a background featuring CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and ace players Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja. Sharing the picture, CSK wrote:
“Amba-ck in the house of Yellove!”
