Former Indian captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly is celebrating his 50th birthday today (July 8) and wishes are pouring in on social media for the ‘Dada’ of the cricket world. Ganguly is hailed as one of the most successful captains and destructive batters to play for the Indian cricket team.

It was in 1996 when a young Dada made his debut in the Indian national cricket team and went on to become a legend of this game. He became the flag-bearer of the Indian cricket team, having led the Indian side to many memorable victories.
The charismatic cricketer led the Indian cricket team to glories on the cricket field then and is currently shaping the future of the Indian cricket team by essaying the role of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president.
