BJP MP from East Delhi and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir continues to win our hearts with his amazing work for the welfare of people. In order to provide shelter and education to the children of sex workers at Delhi’s GB Road, Gautam Gambhir launched a program called ‘Pankh’ on Friday.
Gautam Gambhir took to his social media and announced the same. He tweeted:
“It’s a special day for me & I want to share some imp news To get children of sex workers out of that hell, I am starting program “PANKH” with 25 children & I’ll look after all their needs incl shelter & edu! I urge others to come fwd & contribute too! EVERY LIFE MATTERS!”

According to a press release from Gambhir’s office, 10 girls who are studying in various government schools this session have been selected. Gambhir was quoted saying:
“ We will sponsor their school fees, uniform, food, medical help including counselling so that they can achieve their dreams,”
He also revealed that in the next session, he and his team would be reaching out to more children as their target is to bring at least 25 children into this program. He further said:
“We aim to empower adolescent girls (5-18 years) by giving them regular counselling so that they do not drop out and complete their education,”
Meanwhile, his tweet was flooded with amazing reactions from the fans, who applauded him for his new initiative. The tweet also caught the attention of Suresh Raina’s wife Priyanka Chaudhary Raina, who appreciated Gautam Gambhir for the initiative and expressed that they also want to join hands for the initiative. She wrote:
“Such a fantastic initiative Gautam! We will be very much willing to join hands for the reproductive & sexual health of these sex workers. Tackling Issues like unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, poor contraceptions & STDs is very crucial to make “PANKH” a successful program.”

Responding to this, Gautam Gambhir shared the number of the program manager for further details and also thanked her for her support. He wrote:
