Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, added another feather to his already illustrious cap on Wednesday after he became the fastest batsman to reach the remarkable feat of 12,000 runs in the ODI format of the game. The feat came out during the last and final match of the three-match ODI series against Australia at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
Virat surpassed Sachin Tendulkar as he became the fastest cricketer in the world to score a mammoth of 12000 runs in One-Day Internationals during his 242nd innings. While, Sachin Tendulkar achieved this feat in his 3000th ODI innings and was the first cricketer to do so, 17-years-ago. Followed by Virat Kohli on the top, Sachin Tendulkar at the second spot is legendary Ricky Ponting at the third position.
Meanwhile, social media was abuzz with congratulatory messages and posts for King Kohli. From cricketers around the world to fans and experts, everyone took to their Twitter and posted tributes and praises for the Indian skipper.
Among many, Mumbai Indians star batsman Suryakumar Yadav also joined the bandwagon and heaped praises on the Indian skipper. Well, earlier there were speculations of bad blood between both the cricketers after the two were involved in a sledging episode in the just-concluded edition of the IPL. However, seems like everything is ok between both of them.
In his tweet, Suryakumar Yadav expressed his admiration for Kohli as he praised the right-hander for reaching the new milestone in his career. He wrote:
