T20 World 2022: Harsha Bhogle Picks His All-Time Greatest Cup XI, Only One Indian Included

One of cricket’s most well-known players, Harsha Bhogle, has chosen his all-time greatest T20 World Cup XI. The Indian analyst picked his side before the second round of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia began.

In an interview with Cricbuzz, Bhogle claimed that his choice of players was solely based on their performances in various T20 World Cup editions. In addition, he wanted a team that was “balanced,” and his squad has up to seven legitimate batters, six bowling possibilities, and two true all-rounders.

A star-studded middle order, including Virat Kohli, was chosen by Bhogle as well. It’s interesting that the commentator’s XI included only the flamboyant right-hander as an Indian. Following Pietersen, who won the 2010 T20 World Cup player of the tournament award, was Kohli.

Michael Hussey, who is renowned for his strong hitting, consistency in the format, and dominance when facing bowlers, was chosen by Bhogle to fill the position of no. 5 in the lineup. The Indian commentator also includes notable all-rounders Shane Watson and Shahid Afridi. Afridi was well-known for his outstanding performance on the team that won the 2009 World Cup.

Bhogle chose spinner Samuel Badree, who helped the West Indies win the championships in 2012 and 2016 but was passed over by dangerous Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga, swing master Trent Boult, and Pakistan’s Umar Gul.

Bhogle had a choice of David Warner, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, or Jos Buttler for the second opener. In their initial relationship with Gayle, Bhogle partnered with England great Butler. At the T20 World Cup, Buttler scored 574 runs in 21 innings with an average of 41, a strike rate of 144.58, two fifty-plus scores, and a century.
