In a shocking turn of events, the Netherlands cricket team defeated South Africa, who were deemed as the favorites to win the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. With the defeat against the Dutch side, the Proteas are knocked out of the ongoing  ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and the Indian cricket team has qualified for the semi-finals.

The Temba Bavuma had to win this game to be sure of a place in the semifinals and one was expecting them to defeat the Netherlands in the game, but after the shocking collapse, they failed to chase down a total of 159 runs. With this defeat, South Africa ended their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2022 with five points from as many matches and now their wait for winning the prestigious trophy of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 goes on.

While there were many turning points in the game, one incident left everyone stunned. A stunning one-handed grab during the T20 World Cup match between South Africa and the Netherlands on Sunday afternoon has turned everyone’s heads. The incident took place in the final over of the Netherlands’ innings, Dutch batter Colin Ackermann cleared the front leg and flicked Proteas seamer, Wayne Parnell, over the square leg boundary for his first six of the afternoon.

As easy as you like.

Standing towards the back of the Western Stand’s bottom tier, the venue staffer stretched out his left arm and caught the ball with one hand. The young man threw the ball back before receiving a congratulatory pat in the back from a nearby spectator.

In fact, the commentators couldn’t stop themselves from praising the staffer. “That is outstanding,” former New Zealand bowler Simon Doull said on commentary. “Thrust out the left hand and has pouched it.”

The video of the same was shared by the ICC via their official Instagram account. Watch the video:
