Pakistan’s Imran Tahir competed in the 1998 U-19 World Cup. He was unable to join the senior Pakistani team, though. He relocated to South Africa a short while after, where he later represented the Proteas internationally. In the T20 World Cups in 2014 and 2016, Tahir represented South Africa. He finished the 2014 season well, taking 12 wickets in five games for an economy of 6.55.

Roelof Vander Merwe

Roelof van der Merwe, a seasoned all-arounder, is one of the older players competing in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. He is a participant in the current major competition’s Netherlands team. Many followers would be aware that van der Merwe began his career playing for his native South Africa.

In five games while wearing the Proteas uniform during the 2004 U-19 World Cup, he took three wickets and scored 129 runs. Before obtaining a Dutch passport in 2015.

Grant Elliot

Grant Elliott, a former all-rounder for New Zealand, wore the Blackcaps uniform at the 2016 T20 World Cup. For New Zealand in that match, he notched 27 runs and three wickets. Elliott participated in the 1998 U-19 World Cup for South Africa. Interestingly, he played a crucial game-changing knock for New Zealand against South Africa in the 2015 World Cup semifinals.

Eion Morgan

The English team was led by former England captain Eoin Morgan in the T20 World Cups of 2016 and 2021. In 2016, England came in second under his direction. In 2004 and 2006, Morgan participated in two U-19 World Cups for Ireland. A few years later, he switched to England, and in 2010, he won the T20 World Cup with the English squad.

Craig Kieswetter

Craig Kieswetter, a former England wicketkeeper, was a member of the group that won the 2010 T20 World Cup. He won Player of the Match in the championship game versus Australia. The Three Lions won their first ICC championship through to Kieswetter’s innings of 63 off 49. Kieswetter represented South Africa in the 2006 U-19 World Cup, which took place just four years before England won the championship.
