The T20 World Cup 2022 is just around the corner and the excitement regarding the same among the fans has been touching new highs every day. The much-awaited marquee event is scheduled to take place in October-November in Australia. The winner of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 on November 13th at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will take home a whopping sum of USD 1.6 Million, as announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday.
The ICC confirmed that a total of USD 5.6 Million will be given away as prize money to 16 participating teams in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The ICC also announced that while the champions will receive a sum of 1.6 Million, the runner-ups will fetch half the amount allocated to the winners (USD 0.8 Million). The ICC has a certain amount assigned to the teams who exit at the Super 12 stage. Well, as many as 16 teams will The eight teams who make an early exit will receive $70,000 each.

As of now, the 8 teams that have made it to the Super 12 phase without any hassle are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa. While on the other hand, other eight teams like Namibia, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and UAE are in Group A. There are West Indies, Scotland, Ireland, and Zimbabwe are in Group B. These teams will play the qualifier first up before they can head into the main tournament and rub shoulders with the already qualified teams
