T20 World Cup 2022 IND vs SA: Virat Kohli Makes A Big Statement Ahead Of South Africa Match

India would want to continue their winning juggernaut when they face South Africa for their third Super 12 match in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

The Men In Blue have won both their matches so far – against Pakistan and the Netherlands – and are well placed to reach the semi-final. South Africa’s first match, vs Zimbabwe, was washed out with the Proteas within touching distance of winning the game, and both teams shared a point. South Africa then blasted Bangladesh by 104 runs.

Virat Kohli speaks on adapting to the Australian conditions ahead of the IND vs SA match

Virat Kohli has started the tournament with a bang – 82* vs Pakistan and 62* vs the Netherlands to announce that not only he’s back to form, but he’s back to his beast mode.

Kohli has an incredible T20I record in Australia: 12 innings in Australia, Kohli has scored 595 runs at a jaw-dropping average of 85 and has notched up 7 half-centuries in the 12 innings.

While many batters in the world have found it difficult to come to Australia and adjust to the conditions and the extra pace and bounce of the surfaces, Kohli has seemed at home here.

Ahead of the South Africa encounter, Kohli spoke at length about the practice he does in the nets and the mindset when touring Australia; he said that the ball comes on nicely in Australia and he has enjoyed batting in this country.

“I do not watch any videos. I go to the nets straight and try to figure things out. Of course, you do look stupid for the first few balls. But there is a natural instinct, you know batting, you react. After this, you realise that if a ball bounces this way, you have to be upright instead of being low in your stance,” Kohli said.

“You cannot come prepared from India. You figure out the conditions and you adapt on the field. There are no wickets better for batting than the ones in Australia if you get used to pace here,” he added.
