The Indian cricket team is sweating it hard ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, a tournament that they will be hoping to win for the second time in history. However, the Indian side suffered a major blow even before the  T20 World Cup kicked off as sensational bowler Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the tournament with a back injury. Now with the key member already out of the squad, the search for his replacement ended with  seamer Mohammed Shami being selected.

Ahead of the much-awaited India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 match, the Indian side is  supposed to play four practice matches, two of them having already being played against Western Australia XI at Perth. They are currently playing their third practice match against Australia at Brisbane.

Before the game started, Mohammad Shami took to his social media and shared a heartfelt note on his comeback to T20 cricket for India after more than a year. In his Tweet, Shami expressed that it took a lot of hard work to finally return to the Indian set-up for the shortest format of the game. He wrote:

“It required a lot of hard work, commitment and dedication to be back but the journey to Australia has been thoroughly rewarding. No better feeling than to be back with #TeamIndia and my boys. Looking forward to the World Cup.”

Mohammad Shami last played in a T20I in the T20 World Cup 2021 against Namibia and ever since then he wasn’t been a part of the squad. However, he made a stunning comeback as he  produced a fiery, match-winning over to take his team over the line in the warm-up match against Australia in Brisbane on Monday. He picked up three wickets while giving away just four runs as India beat Australia by six runs at the Gabba.
