T20 World Cup 2022 Prediction: Who Will Win The Tournament?

Whenever a T20 World Cup is in its full swing, it features a boatload of important questions, the foremost of which is who are two teams who have got all the strength to feature in the grand finale of the tournament? Well as we are witnessing the 2022 T20 World Cup chipping away at its own sweet pace, honestly, so far it’s hard to tell who would be making the cut but maybe making a few assumptions won’t hurt.

So far, after the end of the first round of fixtures, the two most impressive teams have been India and England. Yet, making guesses based on just one game genuinely veers off from logic. However, if we are to pick the two finalists, let’s just say that India and England stand out. But then comes another wild question which states that since you have already picked up your finalists, who follows suit to the hallowed trophy?

Well, if you ask me, the answer is simple, India. Now how can I make such an assumption? It is outrageous, yes but it is not baseless. Here are a few reasons why Team India has the best opportunity to be the champions.

#1 One of the best batting line-ups

Despite Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul failing to get going in the opener, they are fine strikers of the cherry and can pile significant runs on the cards if they get going. Followed by this is India’s hefty middle order featuring the likes of Virat, Surya, Hardik, DK, and Axar Patel which enhances India’s depth by a fair mile.

It also is a perfect blend of calm and storm as Virat and Rahul can anchor the innings while Rohit, Hardik, and DK can strike the cherry by a fair mile. To cap it off, this is an iconic batting unit that can get the job done.

#2 An exciting bowling unit

Despite the lack of Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian bowling unit has a fine balance of pace and spin featuring the likes of an experienced Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who straddled a young Arshdeep brilliantly. In the spin department, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal dropped down the tempo of runs at the other end.

Hardik Pandya is usually India’s fifth or sixth bowler and he isn’t just getting the job done but he is reaping handsome dividends, the first chapter of which was evident against Pakistan. He is known for belting out those shorties that act like a killer weapon on Australian surfaces. Pakistan lost the spine of their middle order to a marauding Pandya at the end.

#3 Rohit Sharma’s captaincy

Rohit is an excellent skipper who has shown significant leadership ability in the past year. Showing his command in the finest of colors, he has been a force with which the players chose not to meddle. More than a captain, he is a brother to all.

He blends calm and aggression in the finest of lines and has so far held an unblemished record in all the T20I series that he has been a part of, at and away from home. This is why he would also be a crucial part of the Indian team for them to be the reason for lifting the trophy.
