T20 World Cup 2022: Suryakumar Yadav Posted An Emotional Tweet After India’s World Cup Exit

The Indian cricket team suffered a heartbreaking exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 after they suffered a 10-wicket defeat against England in the semi-final on Thursday (November 10). A win would have seen India face arch-rivals Pakistan in a dream match. However, England’s openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales produced a stellar show and took the game away from India, sealing a spot for themselves for the final showdown.

Following the defeat, Indian cricketers have been pouring their hearts out on social media, expressing their emotions via heartfelt posts. India’s star middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav also took to his social media and poured his feeling out as he expressed how he is “forever grateful” to the fans. He also thanked the team and support staff for all the hard work they put in. He wrote:

“Hurtful loss. Forever grateful to our fans who create electrifying atmosphere, no matter where we play. Thankful for the undying support for each other, proud of the hardwork put in by this team &support staff. Proud to play for my country We will reflect &come back stronger!”

Suryakumar Yadav was one of the star performers for the Indian cricket team in their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign. He was one of the reasons behind India’s success in the marquee event, having played some match-winning knocks for the Indian side. Playing his second ICC event, SKY hit 239 runs in only six matches. He batted with a staggering strike rate of 189.68. 

In the semi-final match against England, there were high expectations from Suryakumar Yadav, considering his performances in the world cup, however, the star batter was dismissed for 14 off 10 in the must-win match.  Courtesy of half-centuries by Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli, team India posted a big total of 168/6 on the scoreboard. However, the target wasn’t big enough for England as their openers Jos Buttler, and Alex Hales joined hands and chased down the target.
