Being the only team across the two groups in the Super 12 round to win 4 matches, India finished on top of the Group 2 points table and come into the semi-finals are perhaps slightly favorites of Jos Buttler’s England side, who pipped over Australia on NRR after both teams finished with 7 points each.

India and England will meet in the second semi-final on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval. Before that, the first semi-final will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand, on Wednesday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Another Kohli-Suryakumar conversation that has gone viral

India batting stars Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav have conjured up a few scintillating partnerships in the last couple of months in the shortest formats. The bond between the pair has also grown closer off the pitch with both singing laurels for each other.

They have also been engaging actively on social media. From Suryakumar labeling their duo as “SurVir” to Kohli hailing “Bhau sabse upar #1” after Suryakumar became the number 1 ranked T20I.

Recently, they also made another enticing conversation on Instagram.

On Tuesday, Kohli uploaded a video of his net session two days out from the semi-final. Kohli muddled with everything and with some style as the fans that had come to see Team India, and in particular, Kohli’s net session cheered while also being awed.

“Enjoying the process,” Kohli captioned the video.

Suryakumar Yadav commented: “Angaaar”

Kohli promptly replied to Suryakumar: “aur bhau poori aaaag (fire emojis)”

Talking about Kohli and Suryakumar, the two batters have taken the tournament by storm. Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the T20 World Cup 2022 currently with 246 runs having cracked 3 half-centuries in 5 innings, including the incredible 82* vs Pakistan, which he himself ranked it as his best knock in T20Is.

Suryakumar Yadav has been batting on a different planet from most other batters in the tournament. Playing his first international tournament in Australia, he’s the third-highest scorer currently, his 225 runs coming at a surreal strike rate of 193; nobody with over 100 runs in the tournament has scored at a strike rate of 170 or more other than Suryakumar.
