Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli, on Monday, shared a horrific experience that he faced during his stay in Perth. He went on to label the experience as “appalling”. He also said that it made him feel very “paranoid” about his privacy.
Well, the entire incident was of someone entering Kohli’s hotel room with the cricketer not present in the room and the entire break-in was filmed. In the video, all of Kohli’s accessories and wardrobe were put on display.
Virat Kohli was left visibly upset and shocked over the incident. Sharing the shocking video, Kohli requested the fans to respect the privacy of everyone and not treat them as a “commodity” for entertainment. He wrote:
“I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment.”
