The Indian cricket team suffered a defeat by 36 runs in the warm-up match against Western Australia in the second warm-up match at the WACA ground in Perth. Chasing a target of 169 runs, the Indian side was restricted to 132/8 in 20 overs and they fell short by a big margin. Rohit Sharma was part of the playing XI in the fixture however KL Rahul captained the side.
R Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with all of his three wickets coming in a single over, while Harshal Patel picked two wickets and Arshdeep Singh picked one. Chasing the target, India started off slow and never bounced back. KL Rahul registered a half-century but was criticized badly for his slow-ish batting at a strike rate of close to 100 for the first half of his innings. He later upped the ante to smash some stunning shots and revive the chase. KL Rahul hit 9 fours and 2 sixes, scoring 74 runs in 55 balls during his knock.
Meanwhile, the Indian side was trolled left, right, and center on social media after suffering a defeat against Western Australia. Among many, Australian journalist Dennis Freedman, who is a huge admirer of Pakistan cricket, also took to his social media and trolled the Indian cricket team after their disappointing performance against Western Australia. Freedman is also famous for never missing out on any opportunity for trolling the Indian cricketers and this time was a golden opportunity to take a dig at the Indian side.

Though it was just a practice match and teams do a lot of experimentation in these fixtures. The Indian cricket team will now fly to Brisbane to take on Australia and New Zealand in two warm-up matches before the all-important fixture against Pakistan on 23rd October.
