IND vs ENG: Wasim Jaffer Has A Hilarious Request For UK PM Rishi Sunak

India faced England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. The match got underway at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

The winner of this semi-final will meet Pakistan in the final on Sunday at the MCG. Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan defeated New Zealand in Sydney to enter the final.

England, though, didn’t have their best players to choose from as batter Dawid Malan and fast bowler Mark Wood were injured and couldn’t be fit in time for this crucial semi-final. Phil Salt and Chris Jordan came in the side.

Malan had left the field while fielding against Sri Lanka, and Wood is out due to muscle stiffness he even didn’t participate in the training sessions over the last couple of days. While Malan hadn’t had the best of the times with the bat, Wood had been breathing fire in the tournament having taken 9 wickets in 4 matches with an economy rate of 7.71 and was enjoying bowling in the Australian conditions.

Wasim Jaffer involves Rishi Sunak in banter with Michael Vaughan

Since it was an India-England encounter, the banter between former cricketers Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan was inevitable, although both haven’t been engaging during the tournament.

It seems like Wasim Jaffer was the first one to troll Michael Vaughan on Thursday. Vaughan had tweeted that it was India who got the advantage after Mark Wood’s injury ruled the pacer out of the semi-final.

“Huge blow for England .. Wood not fit .. !! India are now favourites,” Michael Vaughan tweeted.

Wasim Jaffer, though, reckoned Vaughan knows his much-famed jinxing powers and was trying to out-jinx India which had also elicited comments from Indians.

Jaffer tagged the new UK PM Rishi Sunak and hilariously asked him to put a mobile signal jammer in Yorkshire, where Vaughan stays, until the game is over.

“Hi @RishiSunak! Kindly request you to put a mobile signal jammer in Yorkshire for next few hours. I’m sure it’ll be seen as a goodwill gesture towards India. Thanks,” Jaffer tweeted.
