The Indian cricket team is currently in a hunt to win their second T20 World title in Australia. The men in blue are currently in a good position after winning two out of three matches. The Indian cricket team currently has 4 points in 3 games. After winning two back-to-back games against Pakistan and Netherlands, India lost at the hands of South Africa. This was India's first defeat in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

Notably, just like India and South Africa, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are also in the hunt from Group 2. Talking about Group 1, there is another tight contest between New Zealand, England, Australia, and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, following the defeat against South Africa, many fans and experts have started to question and speculate the chances of India making it to the semi-finals. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who recently stepped down as BCCI chief on October 18 in Mumbai, with Roger Binny elected as the new President, feels that the side can reach the final in Australia.

Yes, speaking at the Cricket Association of Bengal's Annual General Meeting, Ganguly backed the Indian cricket team to win the ongoing marquee event. He said:  "India only lost one match. India will qualify. Everyone is doing good. India will qualify, I hope. I am hopeful that India will play finals. Let them qualify, after that they will play last two games. That can be anyone's game."

Earlier, speaking to the official broadcaster Star Sports, Raj predicted four semi-finalists of the tournament that is witnessing high-voltage action. "My predictions for the semifinalists' spot is India and South Africa from Group 2. From Group 1, it will be New Zealand and a toss-up between England and Australia. And the finalists, there is no doubt, India has to be there, and New Zealand," Raj had said.
