Pakistan captain Babar Azam has had a forgettable T20 World Cup 2022 with the bat so far as the right-handed opener has recorded three single-digit scores in outings.
His failures with the bat were compounded by Pakistan’s losses to India and Zimbabwe, which meant that Pakistan’s semi-final fate is out of their hands and they are hoping for India to defeat South Africa.
His latest abject innings came against the Netherlands on Sunday in Perth. The Pakistani skipper got run out for 4 runs in the second over of the chase of the target of 92.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani bowlers were all over the Netherlands’ batters and restricted them to only 91 in 20 overs. Leg-spinner Shadab Khan took a three-wicket haul while Mohammad Wasim bagged a brace. With this win, Pakistan continue to keep their semi-final hopes alive, but they will need other results to go their way.
