Which Team Looks The Most Threatening Ahead Of The IPL 2020 season?

Cricket LoungeBy Cricket LoungeUpdated:08/02/2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Mumbai Indians, the reigning champions of the IPL, released 12 players during the recently closed trading window, but they still kept the core of their squad intact and they look in the best possible shape to retain their title in IPL 2020.

There are hardly any loopholes in the Mumbai squad and if there was any, they filled that up by trading in a couple of really valuable players during the window.

While they traded in Trent Boult from the Delhi Capitals as the new ball bowler, they landed Sherfane Rutherford as well as a back-up overseas finisher.

The starting XI of Mumbai is the strongest among all the 8 teams in the IPL at the moment. Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma form a destructive duo at the top of the order, while Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan, with their outstanding batting skills against spin bowling, bring solidity to the table.

Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya are there to give the finishing touch to the innings, while Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar are the two spinners who will be slotted at no. 7 and no. 8 respectively.

Krunal and Chahar are two different kinds of spinners and add variety to the Mumbai bowling line-up. While Chahar is a wicket-taking bowler and bowls attacking lines, Krunal’s bowling is more about containing the batsmen and building the pressure.

The fast bowling department has also got stronger with Boult’s arrival as the Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma can now use Boult and Lasith Malinga upfront and save Jasprit Bumrah’s 4 overs for the latter stages of the innings.
