IPL 2020 will start on 19th September 2020 with three venues in the UAE set to host the entire tournament. The COVID-19 pandemic forced BCCI to take this decision because of the current situation in India. The players have reached the UAE and are now following the mandatory 7-day quarantine period.
The auction and retentions for IPL 2020 had happened much earlier and here’s a look at the costliest player of each team in IPL 2020.
Kolkata Knight Riders – Pat Cummins

Kolkata Knight Riders shocked everyone by bidding an amount of 15.50 Crores to sign Pat Cummins. The Australian quick does not have an extraordinary record in the IPL and he will likely be under the pressure of price tag now.
Royal Challengers Bangalore – Virat Kohli 

The only player who will earn more money than Pat Cummins from IPL 2020 is the RCB skipper Virat Kohli. The right-handed batsman was retained for a record fee of 17 Crores and it will remain the same for IPL 2020.
Chennai Super Kings – MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni has been the reason behind CSK’s success in the IPL so far. The Thala of CSK will earn INR 15 Crores according to his contract deal with the Chennai-based franchise.
Mumbai Indians – Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians’ fortunes changed when they entrusted Rohit Sharma with the team’s captaincy. Sharma has won 4 trophies in 7 seasons as a captain and will earn 15 Crores from IPL 2020.
Delhi Capitals – Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has been the number contender to take MS Dhoni’s place in the wicket-keeping department of the Indian cricket team. The southpaw is signed with the Delhi Capitals for IPL 2020 and will get 15 Crores INR.
Kings XI Punjab – KL Rahul

Another Indian wicket-keeper batsman to feature in this list is the Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul. The Mohali-based franchise will pay INR 11 Crores to Rahul for representing them in IPL 2020.

The new captain of Rajasthan Royals Steve Smith will receive a sum of 12.50 Crores for playing for the Royals in IPL 2020. It is noteworthy that even Ben Stokes will earn the same amount from RR.
Sunrisers Hyderabad – David Warner 

Sunrisers Hyderabad have reelected David Warner as their captain for IPL 2020. The southpaw is the team’s best batsman and has an expensive deal of INR 12.50 Crores with the franchise.
