IPL 2021: On Wednesday, Chennai Super Kings’ skipper MS Dhoni unveiled the team’s new jersey for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. In a video shared by the franchise, MS Dhoni unboxed the jersey to share its first glimpse with fans.

The new jersey not just looks super attractive but will also have a positive effect on the environment The Chennai-based franchise has come up with a revamped look for their jersey as it features a new camouflage design on the shoulders, which is a tribute to the Indian armed forces.

MS Dhoni, who is an honorary Lieutenant Colonel with the Territorial Army, looked happier than ever while unveiling the jersey in the video. Myntra will be the new sponsor for CSK’s jersey for the upcoming IPL edition.

“The new-look jersey features camouflage as a tribute to India’s armed forces and three stars atop the much-loved franchise’s logo,” CSK said in a statement.

“It has been on our mind for some time now to find ways to raise awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces. The camouflage is an appreciation of their service they are the true heroes,” CSK CEO KS Viswanathan said.

Besides the beautiful tribute, there are some important features in the jersey that will make everyone take notice and praise the franchise. The new CSK T-shirt is made completely with only recycled plastic, and 15 plastic bottles have been recycled to make a single jersey. Yes, you read that right.

The polyester in the jersey consumes 90% less water and also helps in reducing the carbon emissions into the atmosphere by 270 grams.
