These 4 Top Players Only Played One Test Match For Their Country

Every young aspiring cricketer dreams of playing Test cricket for his country. While most of the T20 performances are forgotten but people remember test performances with their heart. For the cricketers around the world it is a ‘prestige’ to play test cricket for their country.

However, the current T20 trend has caught all the attention of the cricketers, infact there are many cricketers who have not played the longest format of the game for years.

4. Albie Morkel (Cape Town, 2009) :

Albie Morkel is considered as one of the greatest t20 all-rounders, however, he has only played for a single test for South Africa against Australia at Cape Town in March 2009. He wasn’t able to leave a mark with his performance in the test. He scored 58 runs with the bat and returned with the match-figures of 1/132, with the ball.

3. Andre Russell (Galle, 2010):

Andre Russell impressed one and all with his brilliant performance in the just concluded season of IPL. He is one of the most popular T20 cricketers across the world.However, he has only played one test match for his country  against Sri Lanka at Galle in November 2010.

Andre Russell turned out to be very expensive with the ball, he returned back with 1/104 from 23 overs. He wasn’t able to leave the mark with the bat too, he scored only 2 runs.

2. James Faulkner (The Oval, 2013):

The Australian all-rounder, James Faulkner was a star in T20s. Although, he debuted brilliantly in the long format of the game picking 6 wickets and scoring crucial 20s in both the innings, he was never considered for the test game again. He has starred in 69 One-dayers and 24 T20Is, and only 1 test match.

  1. R.Vinay Kumar (Perth, 2012):

The Karnataka player, R.Vinay Kumar has only played a single match for the country. He bowled 13 overs in that game conceding 73 runs at an expensive  economy rate of 5.62  and returned picking only a single wicket in the match. After that, he was never seen playing for the country in the long format of the game.
