Virat Kohli got to his 21st test century yesterday at The Centurion and the celebration was exhilarating. While the Indian batting line-up toppled badly, the skipper, Virat Kohli stood tall a the lone warrior for team India.
Virat Kohli showed great class and temperament to take India close to South Africa’s score of 335.
As Kohli got to his 21st century he was animated and the celebration was more about statements than joy. Kohli was under some heavy hammering for his dismal show in the first test and then for having dropped Bhuvi from the playing XI.
It was a pressure game for Virat Kohli and he stood tall against immense pressure and criticism. It was a sheer masterclass from the Indian skipper.
India managed 307 in response to 335 scored by South Africa, Kohli did half the scoring that the team posted as no other batsman could go past 50. Murali Vijay and Ravichandran Ashwin chipped in with handy cameos of 46 and 38 respectively.
All other batsmen failed miserably and Pujara and Pandya threw their wickets with stupid run outs.
