MS Dhoni is one of the most calm and composed cricketers on the field. He plays the game in the most gentlemanly manner and very rarely loses his cool. But, there have been some moments when Dhoni became little agitated and let his emotions flow.

Umpire Sudhir Asnani was in the line of fire once as Dhoni was unhappy with his decision but then like a true gentleman the then skipper made amends later.

During an ODI match between India and England in 2013 at PCA stadium in Mohali, Ishant Sharma bowled a delivery that hit Kevin Pietersen on his pads and India made very confident appeal. But umpire Sudhir Asnani gave it not out.

“As I turned down the appeal, the fielders slumped on the ground,” said Asnani.

Indian cricketers were very confident about the appeal and they couldn’t believe it when the on-field umpire Sudhir Asnani gave it not out. Even MS Dhoni also expressed his displeasure while walking back to his keeping mark.

“I was really shaken by his disagreement. As nervousness got better of me, I lost track of the happenings in the game,” Asnani added.

When the fourth umpire Anil Chaudhary came out during the drinks break and assured Sudhir Asnani that he had made the right decision as the ball was missing off stump and that the commentators were praising him.

MS Dhoni heard this and he immediately went up to Sudhir Asnani and said: “One plus, Sudhir.” By saying this, MS Dhoni acknowledged that Asnani was right and he made the correct decision.

“I have never seen a captain do this to an umpire in my life,” Sudhir Asnani concluded.
