Irfan Pathan was seen doing the commentary in the season 11 of Indian Premiere League, as he is not playing in the IPL for quite a few years. This eventually saw him take up a coaching role with Jammu & Kashmir cricket.

Recently, Irfan Pathan attended an event in the Punjab Cricket academy in a bid to promote the sport within the state. During the event, Irfan Pathan talked about the contribution of Punjab’s cricketers in the Indian team, he said:

“Punjab has produced several international cricket stars who made the nation proud on foreign soil, but the main motive to open this academy in one of the biggest cities of Punjab is to bring out more such talented players who can contribute to the Indian cricket team, like former players. With the advanced coaching skills, the coach will polish the raw talent across the state and offer them impeccable infrastructure, and carefully watch their performance.”

He said:
“I am also trying my best to come back to the Indian cricket team. My message for the city’s youth is that they should give the same importance to sports as they are giving to other activities because sports is necessary for the overall development of the youth.”
