Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the legendary Indian cricketer, is regarded as one of the finest wicket keeper-batsmen to have played for team India. Apart from his brilliant captaincy and batting skills, his humble personality and cool as cucumber nature has earned him huge respect and love from his millions of fans.

He is the coolest guy on the field, who is known for absorbing all the pressure in the toughest of situations. It is a very rare sight when one sees MS Dhoni losing his cool. The way he soaks in pressure and supports the other teammates is something that is not everyone’s cup of tea. Describing his thought behind his cool personality, the Australia batsman Michael Hussey had said that MS Dhoni believes that the “one who panics last wins the game”.

However, there have been a few instances when we saw MS Dhoni losing his cool, one of those incidents took place in the second T20 international that was played between India and Sri Lanka at Indore, the same game where Rohit Sharma scored the fastest century in mere 35 balls. This was a match when MS Dhoni was seen giving a piece of his mind to Kuldeep Yadav.

Well, what happened was, Kuldeep Yadav didn’t listen to the suggestions of MS Dhoni and he was hit by Perera in the very next ball. After which MS Dhoni lost his cool. Recalling the same incident during a live session recently, Kuldeep Yadav said:

“He came to me and angrily said He said ‘Am I mad? I have played 300 ODIs”

(which roughly translates to: main pagal hu, 300 ODI khela samjha rha hu tuje yaha pe),

He added:

“I got very scared at that time and thought what just happened all of a sudden.”

So did MS Dhoni really lost his cool back then? Well, Kuldeep Yadav went to MS Dhoni after the match and asked him if he was angry on him, to which MS Dhoni revealed:

“Muje gussa nahi aata hai, gussa aae hue 20 saal ho gae, experience hogya to lagta h ki bolna chahiye, jab koi sunta nahi hai to daanta hu, wo gussa nahi. Gussa abhi beta dekha nahi mera. Gussa aata tha muje Ranji matches me”

(which roughly translates to: No I don’t get angry, it’s been 20 years since I last got angry. I think I have gained experience and I should speak now and when people don’t listen I scold them, it’s not anger. You haven’t seen my anger till now. I used to get angry in Ranji Trophy matches )

Well, what happened after MS Dhoni gave a piece of mind to Kuldeep Yadav is history. Following the order of Dhoni, the changes were made and as Dhoni suggested it worked. Kuldeep Yadav got a wicket, which means Dhoni’s suggestion worked for Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep Yadav lauded Dhoni’s cricketing mind and also thanked him for his inputs on the field.
