Although, Delhi Daredevils won the match but it was disqualified from the playoffs before the match. After winning the match, they didn’t let Mumbai Indians qualify for the playoffs as well.
Before the match started, the toss was won by Shreyas Iyer, the skipper of Delhi Daredevils, who chose to bat first. Delhi Daredevils started the first innings with the destructive knocks and scored 30 runs in 3 overs. However, the openers went back to pavilion soon, Glenn Maxwell scored 22 runs and Prithvi Shaw scored 12 runs.

Rishabh Pant took the match with storm and  scored 64 runs off the 44 balls he played. With the strikerate of 145, he smashed 4 fours and 4 sixes.Apart from him, Vijay Shankar remained unbeaten and scored 43 off 30. Abhishek Sharma, on the other hand scored 15 off 10 balls. After the first innings, the target of 174 runs were given to Mumbai Indians.

The second innings didn’t started too well as the opener of the team, Suryakumar Yadav  scored 12 runs off the 4 balls he played. Hardik Pandya scored 27 runs in 17 balls.
The skipper of the team, Rohit Sharma scored only 13 runs and went back to pavilion after he was caught out by Trent Boult. Ben Cuttling scored 37 runs in 20 balls. The team contributed to the total score of 163 runs and fell short with 11 runs.

The mistake that Rohit Sharma did was in the batting order. Like always, this time he came in the middle order and not in the top order. This one mistake could have saved the complete team from sinking in.
