Having lost the second test at Centurion, team India already has its hands washed away from the series. A 72 runs defeat at Cape Town and then a humiliating defeat of 135 at Centurion has exposed India’s batting woes. In both the matches the bowlers did their job and were able to pick 20 wickets in both the test matches but the batting failures have cost India the series.

Problem With The Selection Of Playing XI

A lot has been said and asked about Virat Kohli’s selection policy while selecting the playing XI. He was slammed badly when he decided to drop Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the playing XI in the second test. In the second test, India made 3 changes to the playing XI. KL Rahul got a game ahead of Shikhar Dhawan for Dhawan failed in the first test while Parthiv got a game as Saha is Injured.

The third change came as the exclusion of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the inclusion of Ishant Sharma. Virat Kohli was under some heavy criticism for having made Bhuvneshwar Kumar sit down and he would surely not make that mistake again.

This how the playing XI for India at Wanderers.

Openers

  1. KL Rahul
  2. Murali Vijay

India should give KL Rahul another game as he’s technically more sound than Shikhar Dhawan and he would any day have better prospects than Dhawan to succeed on green pitches.

Middle Order

Cheteshwar Pujara

Virat Kohli

Ajinkya Rahane

Dinesh Karthik

Since Rohit has not performed well in the series, Rahane should get a game. Rahane is India’s one of the best test batsmen and he’s also the vice-captain of the team.

Dinesh Karthik should be getting a game rather than Parthiv. Parthiv was really sloppy with the gloves

in the previous game and dropped some really crucial catches.

All Rounders

Hardik Pandya

Ravichandran Ashwin

Bowlers

Mohammad Shami

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Ishant Sharma

Bhuvneshwar Kumar should come in at the place of Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah has done well but to play three pacers you would have to leave out one. We feel Ishant, Shami, and Bhuvneshwar should be the three pacers to play at Wanderers.
