Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most hardworking cricketers in India. Over the years, he has shown great determination and worked extremely hard on his game. Today, he is world’s number 1 bowler and number 3 all-rounder in Test cricket.

In the recently concluded Test series between India and Australia, Jadeja’s was India’s star performer, as he contribute with both, bat and ball, throughout the series and helped India come out stronger during crunch situations. In the process, Jadeja became only the third player to score 500-plus runs and take more than 50 wickets in a season, behind India’s legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev and Australia’s Mitchell Johnson.

When Jadeja made his debut for India, no one would have imagined that this young boy from Jamnagar (Gujarat) would go on to become one of the most important members of India’s squad, across all three formats of the game. Jadeja was also labelled as a ‘million dollar baby’ when was he was picked for a whooping amount in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But, amidst all this, he kept working hard and proved to the world that he is worth everything he got in his life. There was a time when trolling Ravindra Jadeja by calling him ‘Sir’ became fashionable on social networking websites , but now things have changed a big deal The Rajput Boy of Jamnagar is one of India’s best all-rounder and he commands respect.

On 21st July 2014, Ravindra Jadeja tweeted a message to his followers. He wrote it when his chips were down and critics were targeting him from all sides.

This is what he wrote:

“Mere bare mein koi raai matt dena kyuni mere time bhi badlega aur aap logo ki raai bhi”

English translation: Don’t form any opinion about me. Because my time and your opinion, both will change.

Now that his time has changed and he is the number 1 Test bowler in the world, it would be fair to say that flamboyant Rajput Boy was right. And we all must take a lesson from this.
