This Will Be The Ideal Coaching Staff For India

Cricket is a game where the coaching and training given to players tend to make a big difference. Over the past few years, with the inclusion and importance given to fielding coaches, the Indian team has raised its standard to become one of the best in the world.

However, the entire support staff and head coach play an important role in ensuring players are fit and prepared for the game. With the coaching fiasco just cooling down, we take a look at what would be the ideal coaching setup for the Indian team:

Head coach: Gary Kirsten

An obvious choice considering he won us a World Cup in his first stint as coach of India. Kirsten is someone who is also respected by the Indian seniors and is someone who gets along well with the players.

If Kirsten is appointed, there will be a sense of calm that is brought to the dressing room and he will instill values in the team that can enable us to become world champions again.

Fielding Coach: Jonty Rhodes

Probably the best fielder to have ever played the game, Jonty Rhodes has the edge when it comes to helping players put their best forward. He is the fielding coach of the Mumbai Indians and has made a difference to the way they approach the field.

He is an excellent choice given his calm temperament and great work ethic. Maybe sometime in the future.

Bowling Coach: Venkatesh Prasad

The Indian bowler was on the coaching team that won the inaugural World T20 and is someone who can provide astute knowledge to his bowlers. He was a good bowler back in the day and Prasad will bring a feeling of familiarity to the youngsters playing.

He hasn’t been in the fray for a while but will surely be open to coaching the Indian bowling unit if called upon.

Batting coach: Rahul Dravid

The legendary Indian batsman is someone who loves the game of cricket and is always ready to selflessly give back. Having coached the Rajasthan Royals and the Indian U-19 squad, Dravid will be a great batting coach if given the chance.

Having such vast knowledge of the game, Dravid could provide a few pointers to the likes of Rahane and Rohit to improve their game and take India to the top.

In all honesty, such a situation is a distant dream as getting four good coaches to work together is a task. However, these are men with proven pedigree and could make a world of difference.
