Indian A team was brutally thrashed by the England Lions in the unofficial Test by 253 runs ahead of the upcoming Test series between England and India that will begin from August 1st.

Alastair Cook played an outstanding knock of 180 runs that helped the England cricket team to win the match. Backing the batsmen, Sam Curran bagged five wickets in the first innings of the match and bundled up all the wickets of Indian cricket team.

For your information, there were four players from the Test squad present in the playing XI of this unofficial match.

The England cricket team batted first and gave a whopping target of 423 runs to Indian cricket team. Cook, the former skipper of England cricket team gave an amazing performance and smashed the ball to all the corners of the ground with 26 gorgeous fours. Dawid Malan and Nick Gubbins also gave an instrumental contribution to the total runs by scoring 74 and 73 runs respectively.

The Indian bowlers made a powerful comeback by taking last eight wicket for just 78 runs. While Mohammad Siraj took four wickets, Shahbaz Nadeem and Ankit Rajpoot chipped with three and two wickets, respectively.

However, Indian cricketers started the second innings very poorly loosing their first three wickets for just 50 runs. Murali Vijay, Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair were sent back to pavilion without scoring much. Prithvi Shaw, the young talent was the highest scorer in the match with 62 off 82 deliveries smashing 8 fours.

While Ajinkya Rahane fell short of one wicket from scoring a well deserved half-century and was dismissed, Rishabh Pant scored a fluent half-century.

Sam Curran took five wickets of Indian team, turning into a nightmare for the team. The Indian cricket team failed miserably to chase the target of 423 runs and lost the match by 253 runs.
