3 Young Cricketers Who Will Shine In 2020: One of the best decades for cricket is over as we move into a new decade with the year 2020 starting. There were some fabulous performances in the last year as it was a year to remember for the cricket fans. We saw a great IPL, World Cup and the World Test Championship all in one year. It is not all over as there is more in store this year.

Every year there are new talents on show in the cricketing circles which is the great thing about the sport. The young cricketers come in and pleasantly surprise us with their unbelievable performances. We saw the likes of Marnus Labuschagne, Mayank Agarwal and Alex Carey put their hand up and perform well for their team.

Just like these youngsters did well, there will be a few youngsters who will be eager to perform for their respective countries this year. The year 2020 might see some new faces with fantastic performances. So, on that note, let’s have a look at three players who could have a breakout year in 2020.

  1. Navdeep Saini

Navdeep Saini first came in the limelight when he performed well under the Indian captain in his IPL franchise – RCB. After some good performances in the IPL and for India A, Navdeep Saini has made his T20I and ODI debut for India last year. The last ODI of the year was his first and he picked up a couple of wickets in that game.

Navdeep Saini, in his limited appearances for India in the shorter formats, has shown that he has a lot of potentials. He has a genuine pace that can’t be taught or bought. With Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar both injured, he has the golden opportunity to perform for India.

In the absence of those two fast bowlers, he will get a lot of opportunities and so it could just be Saini’s year to blossom.

  1. Tom Banton

Tom Banton, the aggressive English batsman is already forcing people to look at him. He has raised quite a few eyebrows with his explosive batting. He was phenomenal in the T20 Blast for Somerset.

Looking at his performances in the shortest format, he received his maiden T20 call-up in the series against New Zealand. He showed a little bit of his potential as his strike-rate was 164 in the three games which he played.

He was signed by the Brisbane Heat and will be part of the Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming IPL season. With the top-order of the England team already crowded it is difficult for Banton to get many chances but if he gets some, he can have a breakthrough year in 2020. Banton is one of the most exciting young cricketers in the world and we are very excited to watch him bat in 2020.

  1. Shivam Dube

Just like Navdeep Saini, Dube made his ODI and T20I debut for India in 2019. The 26-year-old seam bowling all-rounder got a chance in the squad due to Hardik Pandya’s injury. He first played in the three T20Is against Bangladesh in which he picked up three wickets in the last game.

In the recently concluded T20 series against West Indies, he was promoted at No.3 and he scored his maiden half-century. Coming in at No.5 and No.6, he can smash some big ones but needs to improve his bowling a bit.

If handled properly, he has the potential to be match-winner for India at least in the shortest format and we might see some match-winning performances from Shivam Dube this year.
