Tim Paine Finally Reacts To Criticism OVer His Comments On India’s Test Win In Gabba

Australian skipper Tim Paine has once again found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling after his latest comments on India’s historic Test series win earlier this year. However, he has finally reacted to the criticism he is getting.

Well, recently talking to Fox Cricket, Tim Paine claimed that the Australian cricket team was undone by India’s ‘sideshows’ during the 2020-2021 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Paine claimed that the team was affected by India’s attempts to distract them with things that didn’t matter. He said:

“Part of the challenge of playing against India is they’re very good at niggling you and trying to distract you with stuff that doesn’t really matter and there were times in that series where we fell for that. The classic example was when they said they weren’t going to the Gabba so we didn’t know where we were going. They’re very good at creating these sideshows and we took our eye off the ball,”

These statements by Paine didn’t go down well with the Indian fans, who started trolling the Australian skipper for his remarks. There were many who slammed and questioned his on-field remarks and pointed out the fact that he was the one who was sledging other cricketers.

Amidst all this, popular sports journalist Brent Costelloe also took to his twitter and shared a screenshot of Indian fans criticizing Tim Paine. In his tweet, he expressed his empathy towards Paine and wrote how he is still coping with the heat from the Indian fans. He wrote:

Almost 6 months on, poor old @tdpaine36 is still copping heat from Indian fans… and these are just the ones I’m tagged in!”

The tweet soon caught the attention of Tim Paine, who was quick to come up with a reply to Brent and finally reacted to all the criticism he is getting. In his reply, he said he ‘deserves’ most of the criticism he is receiving. He wrote:

Love their passion Brent.
Most of it I deserve”
