The much-awaited schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 is all set to be announced anytime soon, as per several reports floating around, all eyes will be on the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan fixture.
According to the reports, the ACC is likely to release the much-awaited schedule of the mega event soon. The delay in the announcement of the schedule for Asia Cup 2023 was because of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), showing reluctance over the hybrid model after having accepted it.
For the unversed, recently, Pakistan’s sports minister had stated that Pakistan would not go to India for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 if the Indian players don’t come to Pakistan to play in the Asia Cup. However, PCB has finally agreed on the proposed hybrid model by the ACC.
The marquee tournament would be held from August 31st to September 17th, as per the hybrid format proposed by the old PCB executive committee, led by Najam Sethi, after India declined to travel to Pakistan.

Pakistan is scheduled to play Nepal in their opening group encounter on August 30th or 31st in Multan. The opening ceremony of the Asia Cup is also expected to take place in Multan. Lahore will serve as yet another location for Asia Cup matches in Pakistan.
As per the proposed itinerary, the Pakistan squad will depart for Sri Lanka directly following their opening match against Nepal. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will play their group stage games in Pakistan before going to Sri Lanka, where the rest of the tournament will take place.

Talking about the India vs Pakistan clashes, the two arch-rivals are likely to lock horns in Dambulla for their league stage games. While two games are already confirmed, there are chances that both the teams will meet for a third encounter in the later stages of the tournament.
Asia Cup 2023 is all set to start on August 31 with six teams competing in the mega event. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will co-host the Continental Cup.
